About Savannah Veterinary Journal (SVJ)

Savannah Veterinary Journal (SVJ) is published by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM), University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. The FVM is located at the Savannah vegetation of Nigeria. Hence, the journal’s name was derived.

Scope

The Savannah Veterinary Journal (SVJ) is a peer reviewed journal that covers various fields of veterinary medicine, animal production and health, comparative medicine and related biomedical sciences.

Frequency

The Savannah Veterinary Journal is published at a frequency of two issues (March and September) per year.

Objectives

The objectives of the journal are to:

• promote veterinary research;
• facilitate knowledge transfer among academic community;
• promote significant research contributions useful for industrial development in the field of veterinary medicine and related biomedical sciences; and
• publish important findings useful for public health.

Review process

This journal adopts a double-blind peer review process. Submitted manuscripts are sent to at least three reviewers with significant expertise and scholarship in the area of concentration of the paper. Reviewers are allowed three weeks to submit reports and recommendations on the acceptance or otherwise of the article for publication in SVJ. These recommendations aid the decision of the Editorial Board on the manuscripts’ acceptance. All articles will be subjected to plagiarism check.

This journal is published on open access policy. Every published article becomes the property of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. The published articles are freely accessible online on the journal’s website: http://savannahveterinaryjournal.com.ng/.
